
Weather
The hottest months are June, July and August when maximum temperatures range between 34C/95F in Cairo and 41C/107F in Luxor and Aswan. Since the climate tends to be dry, especially in Upper Egypt, the heat is more bearable. Evenings are much cooler and very pleasant, which is possibly the reason why nightlife in Egypt is so lively. Weather-wise, the best months to visit is March, April, October and November Other-wise, any time is a good time
Currency
The official currency is the Egyptian Pound (LE) = 100 Piastres. Notes are available in denominations of LE 200, 100, 50, 20, 10, 5 and 1. Coins are in denominations of 100, 50, 25, 20, 10 and 5 Piastres.
Credit cards
Visda, MasterCard, American Express, and Diners Club are widely accepted. Check with your credit card company for details of merchant acceptability and other services which may be available.
Sleeping Train :

The banking hours are Sunday to Thursday, 8.30 am to 5 pm.
Clothing :
Advisable attire is light cotton in the summer and woolens in the winter. In the evenings, a jumper or an overcoat may be required. With respect to Egyptian culture, where semi-conservative clothing is the norm, it is wise to generally avoid very brief clothing.

Most major hotels have wireless internet connections in the hotel rooms and main areas either for free or for a small fee. You can check with the reception upon check in. All cities have Internet cafes.
Tipping
Tipping worth 10-12% is added to hotel and restaurant bills but an extra tip of 5% is normal.
